Decentralization is underway. In the coming years, emerging blockchain technologies (like Ethereum) will aid in distributing power from the center to the edges of our communities. This movement could bring about the most significant technological and social advancements since the advent of the internet. You can be a part of this change at ETHBuenosAires.

ETHBuenosAires is welcoming those who want to support and build the decentralized future. The Hackathon is an opportunity to work alongside the developers, thought leaders, advisers, and companies who are making the infrastructure and applications that will power the future.

Eligibility

  • Teams must have no more than 4 hackers, who are all physically in attendance
  • Hackers must be over the age of 18
  • No geographic restrictions on hackers

Requirements

  • Your hack must be related to Ethereum
  • You cannot work on your project before the event begins
  • You cannot steal another team's source code
  • All code required to run your project must be submitted

Toshi

Toshi is offering one 1.5 ETH prize for the Best Mobile Compatible DApp. Requirements:
- Web3-based DApp that works on Toshi
- Does not have to be mobile first, but the user experience on mobile should be excellent
- Points awarded for highest impact, most innovative, creative use of blockchain

RCN

RCN will award USD 1250 to the best decentralized Oracle or Cosigner implementation compatible with RCN. Interfaces and examples can be found at https://github.com/ripio/rcn-network

Maker

Maker is thrilled to be sponsoring ETH Buenos Aires (May 25-28) and we are offering a prize for the best project that integrates Dai (our stablecoin) or CDP’s into their product. A total of up to 5 MKR will be awarded to the team that best utilizes Dai in their application. We are looking for innovative use cases and solid MVP’s. Hackers also have the opportunity to receive additional MKR for continuing to work on their Dai project after ETHBuenosAires. We will reach out to candidate projects after the hackathon if we find some that fit the criteria of the core Maker team.
Hackathon Project Ideas
--Design an interface that distills out the complexity of the dai frontend to empower a specific use case of the platform (bonus points if you use a proxy contract.)
--Create a frontend for decentralized ETH exposure using CDP’s.
--Build a slick wallet for sending and storing Dai.
--Build a frontend for loan mechanics.
--Judging
The MKR will be awarded by a panel of judges that includes Matt Richards, Mariano Conti and Gonzalo Balabasquer. We will be looking for creative use cases and compelling product visions.

Status (2)

We would like to offer 2 bounties (total 1.66675 ETH) to work on plugins for Embark. Embark is all about simplicity and extensibility. There are already helpful pre-existing plugins for babel, webpack and a number of other JS build tools. Hackers can easily write their own plugins to suit their needs and share them with the whole community.

Suggested ideas: Fuzz testing (https://github.com/trailofbits/echidna) and a pile of others: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cWzEwROXAqWjHJNm7P0PNC9WaYiGb-yhzHWIsU8xENw

Hydro (100)

1,000 HOT for every participant who completes first transaction via API SDK on Hydro Protocol.

API doc:
https://docs.ddex.io/.

We have two demo on github as well.
https://github.com/HydroProtocol

We will also reward developers who star/ Fork/ Pull request on Hydro Github rep

The reward will be distributed in 30 days.

Overall Winners (5)

ETHBuenosAires does not have an overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place team. Instead, we will have 5 judging groups. Each group will select the 1st place. The top 5 teams will be celebrated on stage!
